laura mercier caviar stick

This was something that I’ve been meaning to post for a while now. I love Laura Mercier Caviar Sticks. I first purchased Amethyst a few years ago and my collection has grown since.

l'occitane almond shower oil

My friend and fellow beauty blogger, Xin, has been raving about this product for the longest time and I didn’t quite get around to understanding why until recently. Now I can see why she’s completely hooked on this stuff and it’s no wonder she immediately grabbed a couple of bottles on when it was on sale a few months ago. I’m talking about the L’Occitane Almond Cleansing and Soothing Shower Oil (Almond Shower Oil for short) and I am now another fan.

SK II Facial Treatment Essence

Now that the dust (of moving) has settled and we’re more or less breaking in our new condo, I finally had time to whip out my equipment to take some photos and of course, write this blog post.

A few months ago, I was contacted by the PR of SK II to check if I’m interested in reviewing their extremely popular Facial Treatment Essence. In all honesty, I’ve never tried many products from SK II and the only one I’ve tried many moons ago was the sheet mask. I remembered liking it but it was just too expensive to purchase regularly because we now have so many different sheet mask options at a more affordable range.

After giving it some thought, I informed the PR that I was interested in giving this Facial Treatment Essence a go. My skin has been a bit troublesome, probably due to the weather changes and I wasn’t completely enamoured with another skin lotion type thing (*cough* Estee Lauder *cough*), so I thought of trying something new.

A Quickie Update

Hello, again!

I know it’s been a while since this blog had any updates but I just wanted to let y’all know what’s been going on lately. I have just moved to a new home. Le hubby and I have been very busy with packing, moving, furniture buying, unpacking, cleaning (oh, the cleaning nearly did me in), arranging,… everything. I have to say we did leave packing of the old house to the very last minute and I have to thank the movers we hired for doing a fantastic job in getting all of that done in a day. So, I’m now busy setting up my new space.

This is the first “brand new” home. Our previous houses were second-hand so we did not go through any extensive renovation and personalisation. Working with builders and contractors was an interesting experience (and quite often, rather stressful). And boy, have we learned some lessons along the way.

I can’t wait to get my stuff set up so I can start taking photos and blogging again. But it’s unlikely that I’ll be posting any FOTDs because I have a huge pimple right under my nose! When that volcano erupts and subsides, I will start taking some presentable face shots again. Hehehe…

Anyway, I just wanted to pop in to say, “Hi!” and you will be seeing more of me soon :-)

Oh, do follow me on Instagram (beautycabby) where I’ve been posting so many photos of the move and my new condo.

Lots of luv,

"Not until we are lost do we begin to understand ourselves."

I have been contemplating if I should stop beauty blogging but I enjoy it too much although I have not been active in recent months. I am going through several changes in my life at the moment. Some are work related and some are,… well, personal.

My husband and I will be moving house soon and I have been very busy getting our new condo together and spending most of my precious weekends on the new house / move related stuff. If you didn’t know by now, I only have time during the weekends to write and take photos.

Also, my current house is a big ol’ mess and it kinda looks like a storeroom / junkyard now. I don’t have a good setup to take photos anymore and haven’t been able to catch proper daylight, which is why a few of my previous posts had rather poor lighting. I became rather frustrated with my photos as they didn’t really turn out the way I wanted them to.

Work has also taken over my life in the last few years. Both my husband and I work long hours. We have gotten used to it but it also means we don’t get to spend as much quality time together. Many times I thought about giving up my job, and one day, I will.

Anyway, rather than rambling on too much, I just wanted to say thank you for putting up with my lack of posts and for your support. I sincerely appreciate it. I promise I’ll return after we have moved and settled into our new home. So, do stick around and before you know it, beautycabby will be back and running again.
