I was recently invited to the launch of Fabulous Finds, a beauty box subscription service and the first of its kind to arrive onto our local scene. The invitees were given a sneak preview on July’s box and I must say it was pretty impressive.

The Fabulous Finds box comes in a melon pink box that is very sturdy and is a fairly good size. You can probably re-purpose it as a storage box or send it to a recycling center to do your bit to greener living. Within the box, the products are wrapped in silver tissue with a lovely matching melon pink ribbon tied around.

I suppose most of you would be more interested to know what is within the box than just the pretty packaging. So here’s the July box unveiled!

There are currently six brands signed up with Fabulous Finds and they are Beaubelle, Benefit Cosmetics, Burt’s Bees, Crabtree & Evelyn, Lunasol and Shu Uemura. Most of the products are in deluxe sample or travel sizes. The Crabtree & Evelyn handcream is the only full sized item.

There are a few sample sachets from Burt’s Bees and Shu Uemura and I’m not sure if they are supposed to count to the number of items in the box or whether they are meant as extras. The Lunasol powder foundation is a nice inclusion however like most base products, providing just one colour for everyone may not be a good idea. I certainly hope there will be some form of customisation available to the subscribers in the future so they can receive products that are more suited and tailored to their needs.

Each box is priced at RM35 for the monthly subscription or RM420 for the annual subscription (inclusive of one additional box). I believe this is a fair price because the Crabtree & Evelyn handcream alone already costs around RM25, and you’re getting quite a few good products thrown into the box. I believe there will be more brands hopping on board in time to come, so do keep your eyes peeled for more news via their website (link below) or Facebook Page.

What I find to be most admirable about Fabulous Finds is the owner Hui Ling, who not only is a beautiful lady but a person with a good cause. The boxes are packed by women from disadvantaged backgrounds and this enables them to gain supplementary income to help improve their lives. You can read more from Hui Ling over at My Women Stuff.

If you like to be surprised and you fancy receiving or even giving a treat (these will make lovely gifts), I’d highly recommend considering a subscription to Fabulous Finds. Not only do you get a delightful little box each month but you’d know that you are contributing to a cause that can help others live better.

There are only 180 July boxes and they ship out this 15th of July, so hurry on up and place your subscription soon!

This is the third time I read about this box and I have to say the first box looks pretty good. I think the reason I hesitate is because I always assume the quality of the products offered will be inconsistent. It might be good for first few months then there will be duds after that. I guess RM 35 is quite reasonable so that’s a good pull factor :-)

Hi Lily, that’s probably because a bunch of us were invited to the same launch ;-) I agree the price is reasonable and I think with more brands signing on, it should get better. I can’t wait to see what’s in store the coming months.
