Dior Vernis in Riviera is one of the four shades available in their latest Color Block Collection along with Incognito, Plaza and Lucky. Out of the four, Riviera is the most striking on me and I never thought I’ll be a fan of such loud oranges.
Bright orange-coral shades do create an air of fun and holidays in the sun. With Tangerine Tango being Pantone’s Colour of the Year 2012, I am not surprised Dior would include a sunny orange shade into one of their collections too.
Orange based hues do not usually look very nice against my skin tone but Riviera has enough red and pink with a strong hint of coral to actually look complimentary on me. The formula is typical of Dior, it’s smooth and applies easily. It is somewhat opaque with two coats and glossy enough without requiring a topcoat. The polish is fast-drying and I didn’t have to wait too long in between layers.
I really think Riviera will look very beautiful on warm skin tones because it is such a colourful, summery shade although released in Spring. It feels more akin to a beachy holiday than a garden full of roses, if you understand my meaning. It is such an upbeat and cheerful colour.
Dior Vernis in Riviera retails at RM72 and should be available at most Dior counters soon. It is due to be released in April under the Color Block Collection for Spring 2012. If you’re a nail-o-phile, I’d recommend having a look at this collection.
Are you a fan of happy, warm colours and do you like ‘em orange? I’d love to find out what your favourite tangerines and oranges are, so do share.
