The past few months, I have been using a rather luxurious face brush that I didn’t get around to posting until now. Well, allow me to introduce you to a very precious Lunasol Powder Brush.

This face powder brush is the softest brush I have ever had the pleasure of owning. I just love how the fine bristles gently stroke my face each time I use it. It is such a wonderful feeling. In all honesty, if I could fluff away at my face all day with this brush, I would do it.
Lunasol brushes are manufactured by Chikuhodo in Japan and they are one of the best brush-makers in the world. Chikuhodo also produces brushes for RMK and Suqqu, which other than makeup, are both known for their luxurious brushes too.

“Luxurious powder brush made from 100% natural blue squirrel hair. Fits gently to the face line. Plenty of bristles give you a heavenly, soft touch. Enjoy the purifying sensation as the brush touches your skin.”
This Powder Brush is made with extremely soft pure blue squirrel hair and it is by far my most luxurious face brush to date. The dark bristles are fanned from the brown aluminium ferrule and rounded at the tip. It has a slightly tapered end, which fits nicely around the corners of your nose.
I find that this brush picks up powder products without issues and I just need to tap off any excess before applying. It feels like a cool, soft breeze caressing my face as it lightly distributes a veil of powder all over. I normally use this brush with fine setting powders such as Chanel’s Poudre Universelle Libre. It is such a lovely treat!

I don’t think I need any other face powder brush after getting this Lunasol one. Oh, wait a minute… that’s not completely true as I do have other brushes for different purposes. But if you intend to invest in a luxuriously soft and all-around gorgeous fluffy brush, I’d seriously recommend giving the Lunasol Powder Brush N a go. At RM230 for each brush, it is not a cheap investment but do fondle it at the counters before deciding.
Do you have a favourite face brush and have you tried Lunasol brushes before? Do share your thoughts as I’d love to find out what you’re using as well.

OMG! I love this brush! I find we hv similar taste, gorgeous. Another face brush I like is from MakeUpShow the black series. It is soft but dense and firm. Less fluffy than this one, picks up more products. I also like the big tapered pointy face brush from MAC, can’t remember the number. I’m crazy about brushes. I can go on and on so I’d better stop now or it’ll become 10 pages long. Lol!

Ya, we are starting to sound more and more alike
It’s a good thing too because I have another person who shares similar tastes! I’ve never tried MakeUpShow brushes and wonder if I should go for it?
Sorry, not black series. High series. Oops!

Yummy! I’m actually in the market for a powder brush & I’ve got a voucher burning a hole in my pocket so…
I just realized I don’t have a nice powder brush. Its time to remedy that!

Yes, it most certainly is about time
I think you’ll love this brush too since you already like the cheek version so much. I would highly recommend Lunasol over RMK, which I find to be less refined due to the goat hair blend.
This reminded me so much of the THEVI brush that I own, it was pricey but worth every single cents
I’ve never tried any Lunasol brushes but their eyeshadows
Oooh, I’ve never heard of THEVI so I’ll need to check it out soon! I trust your taste and if you say it’s worth it, it most probably is
Lunasol brushes are very, very soft and so gentle against skin. My face tends to be rather sensitive sometimes so I really appreciate soft, fluffy brushes during those periods.
I used to think it’s ONE HELL of an overpriced brush, but after 4 long years, the quality and the “puffiness” remains exactly the same as new
Thanks for trusting my taste..hehehe
Yay you posted about this! Now I shall have to think. This brush, or the cheek one that you reviewed?

Hey, Dom… If you don’t really use blushes daily, I’d recommend going for the powder brush first. Both the Lunasol brushes are lovely though. The powder brush is more expensive but so far, I think it’s the best brush investment I have made. Buuuuut… I haven’t tried Suqqu yet
the brush looks amazing but i wouldn’t buy it since it uses squirrel hair.

It’s true that it’s made with animal hair but there are many good quality synthetic brushes as an alternative. I’d recommend Real Techniques or Ecotools if you’re looking for vegan-friendly brushes.
