I think it’s safe to say that I’m very fond of theBalm blushes. I previously reviewed Hot Mama and Cabana Boy, both of which I love dearly. The quality of their blushes is just lovely. They are silky, pigmented and long-lasting.

Down Boy is a cool-toned bubblegum pink with a very subtle light-reflecting glow. This is now my go-to blush for days when I’m in a rush (and this happens everyday) because it’s so easy to wear and goes well with almost anything.

The blush is very pigmented so I’d recommend using a light hand and gradually building up colour, otherwise you may end up with clown cheeks. The texture is so buttery and silky but it’s not so soft that it will crumble and get dusty when you swirl your brush around. Honestly, all blush should be made this way!

On me, the blush appears as a light pink tinge and is really quite flattering. I dare say it makes me look more upbeat and cheerful. I think Down Boy will suit fair to medium skin tones better as I’m not sure if it will show up well against deeper skin. This product is meant to be dual-purpose and can be used as an eyeshadow as well but I’ve not tried it on my eyelids yet.

The cardboard packaging includes a mirror within and is relatively sturdy. Although the vintage print may seem tacky to some, I actually find it charming but I don’t fancy the silly name. It sounds like something you’d scold your over-exuberant dog (or man, in this case).
In summary, if you’re interested in a sweet pink, girly-girl sort of blush, theBalm’s Down Boy is highly recommended. It costs RM65 for 8.5g worth of product, which is good value for money considering the high quality. The blush can be purchased at Sasa stores locally.

It makes you look so radiant! I think your skin tone is great for this one
You look fab! This is the first time I feel the urge to buy this blush… oh noes…
I like this one and don't use it enough but I think I'm in the minority in hating the inconsistent packaging of theBalm's blushes and their silly twee product names.
i have read quite a lot of good reviews on thebalm blushes but never gotten around to buy myself any. maybe time to own one eh?
It looks lovely on you. I've been looking around for a light, fool-proof blush that would be great for busy days (or for that bare-faced seeming look) and this looks like a good prospect.
Love love love this blush – I got one as a present from the So Loverly girls a couple of years back, and still use it regularly!
Hahaha yes So Loverly's quite guilty of evangelizing this one. I love its versatility and freshness too, particularly in summer. I swear it makes me look younger and certainly less hungover.
aw u look so lovely n sweet in the pic! suddenly not used to seeing u in pinkish lips anymore
This is a very flattering colour blush!
Thanks, sweetie
It's definitely a favourite now… but I have so many other favourites too!
Psst… go buy #evurlgrin
Hehehe, I know you really dislike their packaging but I think it's quirky. Really don't like the name of this one though, it's so silly.
Yes, girl! It's time to get one! They now have Frat Boy if you prefer a peachier shade.
Thanks for the compliment! If you're looking for something that's easy to wear and cute as a button, this blush is a good option
SoLoverly girls are #evurl to the core! It's definitely a blush I see myself using regularly too.
I actually read your review first and then made the decision to get it, so yes, you are to be blamed (but in a nice way).
Thanks, Xin! Can you believe it's only a Nivea lipbalm?
Thank you! If you have it or get a chance to try it, I think it will look so pretty on you too!
O_o which nivea is it?
Nivea Pink Guava lipbalm, I think. It's nice but I don't like the scent. Too heavy and artificial to me.
